5,000 Year Old Cochno Stone will be Laser Scanned with 3D imaging technology

Hidden within a scrap of woodland on the edge of a Scottish housing estate is one of Europe's most important artworks. Buried to protect it from vandals, a slab of rock etched with Stone Age carvings is perhaps one the UK's most neglected prehistoric sites. Yet now, nearly 50 years since it was buried, the 5,000-year-old Cochno Stone is to be re-excavated to allow archaeologists to study it. The stone, which measures 42 feet (13m) by 26 feet (8m), is covered in around 90 grooved spirals and indentations known as cup and rings. The petroglyphs also include a ringed cross and a pair of four toed feet.

Researchers are now using cutting edge 3D imaging technology to record the ancient artwork to allow them to study it in more detail. Dr Kenny Brophy, an urban archaeologist at the University of Glasgow who is leading the excavation, said it could help to shed new light on the markings and who made them. He said: 'This is the biggest and I would argue one of the most important Neolithic art panels in Europe. 'The cup and ring marks are extensive but the site just happens to be in the middle of an urban housing scheme in Clydebank. 'It was last fully open to the elements and the public up until 1965.

'Sadly as it was neglected it was also being damaged through vandalism and people just traipsing all over it. 'It has been well recorded for archaeological purposes but we now feel the time, and the technology, is right to unearth it and see what new elements we can learn about its history and the people who created it.' The excavation team will gather high resolution images of the surface of the stone using the same technology used to image Tutankhamun's tomb, revealing evidence of a new chamber. Once complete the stone will be reburied to keep it safe from harm.

Possible UFO releases multiple orbs

I was doing my patrol and noticed something odd in the sky. Captured at 3:00 am May 13 2016 in Fairbanks, Alaska. first orb released at 1:03 multiple orbs released at 2:30 and also I don't know if the camera captured it but at 3:20 I said "WHAO!" The object moved really fast then back to where it was at originally. Then at the end of the video it just disappeared and I felt pretty happy to see and capture such an event whatever is was.

The bent Pyramid Interior Revealed for the first time Using Cosmic Rays

The internal structure of an ancient Egyptian pyramid was revealed for the first time using cosmic particles, a team of international researchers reports. The innovative technology was applied to the Bent Pyramid, a 4,500-year-old monument so named because of its sloping upper half. According to the researchers, who presented their results in Cairo on Tuesday to Khaled El-Enany, minister of Antiquities and the former minister Mamdouh El-Damaty, the outcome was "excellent" as it showed the inside of the monument as with an X-ray. Cosmic Rays Used to Peer Inside Pyramid The technology relies on muons, cosmic particles that permanently and naturally rain on Earth, which are able to penetrate any material very deeply. This is the first of four pyramids to be investigated within the ScanPyramids, a project carried out by a team from Cairo University's Faculty of Engineering and the Paris-based non-profit organization Heritage, Innovation and Preservation under the authority of the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities. The others are the Great Pyramid, Khafre or Chephren at Giza, and the Red pyramid at Dahshur. Scheduled to last a year, the project uses a mix of innovative technologies such as infrared thermography, muon radiography, and 3-D reconstruction to better understand the monument and possibly identify the presence of unknown internal structures and cavities. Photos: Scanning Pyramids Located at the royal necropolis of Dahshur, about 25 miles south of Cairo, the Bent pyramid was built under the Old Kingdom Pharaoh Sneferu (about 2600 BC). It's the first with a smooth face, after generations of stepped pyramids. The monument has two entrances, one on the north side and one on the west side. These entries open on two corridors leading to two burial chambers arranged one above the other. It was speculated that pharaoh Sneferu rests inside the pyramid in an undiscovered burial chamber, but the innovative technology ruled out the hypothesis. The scanning did not detect any additional chamber of the size of the upper chamber or beyond in the field of view covered by the muography. Lost Egyptian Pyramids Found? "Nevertheless, this is indeed a scientific breakthrough as it validates the muography principle applied to Egyptian pyramids. It paves the way to new investigations," said Mehdi Tayoubi, co-director of the ScanPyramids mission with Hany Helal, professor at Cairo University's Faculty of Engineering and former minister of research and higher education. The results come four months after a team led by specialist Kunihiro Morishima, from the Institute for Advanced Research of Nagoya University, Japan, installed (as explained in this video) 40 muon detector plates inside the lower chamber of the Bent pyramid. Covering a surface of about 10 square feet in the pyramid’s lower chamber, the plates contained two emulsion films that are sensitive to muons that continually shower the Earth's surface. They come from the upper layers of Earth’s atmosphere, where they're created from collisions between cosmic rays and the nuclei of atoms in the atmosphere. "Just like X-rays pass through our bodies allowing us to visualize our skeleton, these elementary particles, weighing around 200 times more than electrons, can very easily pass through any structure, even large and thick rocks, such as mountains," Tayoubi said. The plate detectors allow researchers to discern void areas — these are places where muons cross without problem — from denser areas where some muons are absorbed or deflected. Morishima's team retrieved the detector plates from the Bent pyramid in January 2016 after 40 days of exposure. This is the maximal lifetime of chemical emulsions within the temperature and humidity conditions inside that pyramid. Photos: New Pharaoh Found in Egypt The films were then developed in a dedicated lab installed at the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), and shipped to Nagoya University for analysis. "From these plates, more than 10 millions of muon tracks were analyzed. We count the muons and according to their angular distribution we are able to reconstruct an image," Tayoubi said. "For the first time ever, the internal structure of a pyramid was revealed with muon particles. The images obtained clearly show the second chamber of the pyramid located roughly 60 feet above the lower one in which emulsions plates were installed," he added. How the Ancient Egyptians Really Built the Pyramids Tayoubi stressed that each step in the project is important. "We learn a lot from the reality of the field. We improve the knowledge of the monuments but we also improve the technologies progressively. We are not in a hurry," he said. Tayoubi admitted that the available statistics from the 40 days of exposure is not yet sufficient to precisely reveal the known corridors or unknown voids smaller than those in the upper chamber. Radar Finds Secret Chamber in King Tut's Tomb However, the researchers made simulations by randomly placing, within the field of view, a hypothetic chamber of size similar or larger than the upper one. "Compared with the results obtained, these simulations could validate the fact there is no additional chamber of this size in the surroundings," professor Morishima said. Strong of their results, the researchers will now apply the muography to other Old Kingdom pyramids. VIDEO: Why Did We Stop Building Pyramids? The next one will be the Great Pyramid of Khufu at Giza, the last remaining wonder of the ancient world. The monument has long been rumored to have hidden passageways leading to secret chambers. The researchers plan to use there two other types of electronic instruments besides the chemical emulsion films from Nagoya University. "Contrary to the emulsions, they have lower resolution but no limit in exposure time and further allow for real time analysis," Tayoubi said. Originally published on Discovery News. I took this picture about 20 minutes before sunset& before the video,There is a disc or rod in the upper center of the picture, I didn't see it with the naked eye.

This is another picture around the same time, 20 minutes before the video, notice the huge disc, or rod over the forest center right, again I didn't see it with the naked eye.

Here is the video I took 20 minutes after the pictures. Notice the craft moved slowley according to the first pic, (use the rock as a guide). I took this video through binoculars alligned with a mini cam, sorry about the shaking, it was difficult to allign the pupile sized holes freehand. This was taken in Pebble Beach California just after sunset, I believe after the sun dropped below the horizon it reflected light off of them making them visible, just a guess from the way they mysteriously appeared. I had a 2 mile walk on a dark beach after the sighting back to my car. I kept looking back and did keep track of time... I hope? It was an amazing experience. Im glad I had my camera on me to catch this Odd phenomena.

All over the world, UFOs have been seen by people as far back in human history as you care to research. Now, for the past few years more & more people are filming, and taking photos of something new. What can only be described as wormholes opening in the sky, sometimes with UFO ships flying into, or out of them. The newest sightings took place on 12/09/09 in Norway around 8:00AM in the morning. It was seen by thousands of witness's, filmed, and photos taken. Sadly the news has once again denied such claims as Alien in origin, unknown Earth anomaly, or paranormal in nature. Instead they state it was a failed test of a German missile, which even the untrained eye can clearly see it is far from being. The choice is yours on the Dec. event in Noway, but the evidence is presented for the possiblity of visiters not from this world arriving via wormhole technologies far beyond human ability. One thing is for sure, once again the world governments are hiding something of vast important from the public. The truth is out there, keep an open mind, and keep looking up. Good journey!

Digital image processing is so advanced these days that it would be easy to dismiss the above picture as simply having been Photo-shopped, but this is not the case.

According to spaceweather.com (as well as several Norwegian-language news sources which do this author little good!) ,sky-watchers throughout northern Norway spotted this amazing phenomenon in the heavens on the night of Dec 8-9, 2009.

No one knows for sure what it was, but here is the account from Nick Banbury, who witnessed the event from Harstad, Norway:

It consisted initially of a green beam of light similar in color to the aurora with a mysterious rotating spiral at one end.this spiral then got bigger and bigger until it turned into a huge halo in the sky with the green beam extending down to the earth. According to the press, this could be seen all over northern Norway and must therefore have been very high up in the atmosphere to be seen hundreds of km apart.
